✓ How did you cope/manage to complete the three days of “Life of a Teacher”?

I tried to keep and do things the same as their teacher would so that the learners aren’t confused or lost. But I have coped as the learners were very pleasant and listened to me.

✓ How did you feel taking on all the responsibilities of a teacher in Block 1 compared to Block 2?

The responsibility is a lot, but it was a fun and challenging experience. It also made me think back and reflect on myself in order to improve.

✓ Which activities did you find most challenging? How did you overcome these challenges?

The most challenging time for me was a few times when the class got loud, it took me a while to get them settled, and this is when my management tool came in handy when they are seeing me use it, they went quiet and got curious to see what I was holding up and they listened to me and behaved after.

✓ Analyse the results of your self-evaluation survey where would you rate yourself higher?

I wouldn’t rate myself higher, I feel as if the marks are fair.

✓ Justify how you have improved these competencies through this experience.

I’ve learnt a lot, regarding how to discipline the learners, how to get their attention and also how to adjust lessons to meet the needs of all learners in the classroom. Taking this role made me more confident about teaching.
